Helsingborg has been at the flashpoint of Swedish and Danish history for centuries, perched at the narrowest point of the strait between the two countries. The past has left its mark in the form of historical buildings and the tower Kärnan, which dominates the Öresund. Today a short ferry link with Denmark makes it a point connecting the countries.
