Czech public holidays

Czechia’s public and labour holidays do not include several traditional Catholic holy days. The Monday after Easter is a day when a lot of institutions close, even those open on Easter Sunday.

Large stores (those exceeding 200 square metres) are closed by law on New Year's Day, Easter Monday, Victory Day, Czech National Day, Czechoslovak Independence Day and Christmas Day. On December 24 large stores close about noon. Christmas is celebrated over two days.
