Masopust

In February or March, the pre-Lenten Masopust procession, punctuated by dances and featuring masks and colourful costumes, creates a carnival atmosphere in Hlinsko and nearby villages in eastern Bohemia.

In May or June, the Prague Spring international music festival takes place at capital-city venues or at open-air locations.

Jízda králů

In May or June, the ‘Ride of Kings’ Pentecostal festival is celebrated in south-eastern Czechia. The best-known parade is in Vlčnov.

This five-day rock festival is held in June at the former Hradec Králové airport features international acts.

Smetana Litomyšl

The music festival Smetana Litomyšl takes place in June and July in the palace of Zámek Litomyšl, where the composer Bedřich Smetana was born.
