Travel information in Czechia

The national tourist organisation Visit Czechia’s website plugs into cultural themes and offers plenty of inspiration. Occasional information items are outdated, so cross-checking is advisable. A guide to traveller apps is included under the Travel info menu.

There is an introductory web page of historical towns and blog page

The Kudyznudy.cz website, an official site of CzechTourism, requires browser translation but is one of the best tourism websites for depth. It offers a range of events, cultural blogs and alternative activities that can be filtered by region and works off a map (linked to Mapy.com) for activity ideas with a selection of images.

The Kudyznudy.cz app, available in English and searchable by location and region, includes location and other basic information such as admission prices (where relevant), current weather and an external website link.

The SmartGuide app covers more covers more Czech destinations and sights than anywhere (more than 250) for sightseeing, walks, tours and activities. There is a premium version and audio guide functions for many sights.

Czech tourist information centres

The green-and-white ‘i’ signs are not generally as prominent outside Czech tourist information offices as in many countries, but the quality of information in English is good, even in modest-sized destinations.

The volume of printed resources in English varies by place, but Brno probably leads in the cultural field with its range of pocket booklets.
