Wi-fi access

Wi-fi service in Czechia is of high quality, especially in large cities, where 5G or high-speed 4G networks are common. Large public spaces, transport hubs, hotels, hostels, cafes and restaurants typically offer strong, fast connections. In remote or mountain regions, the network is less dense. If problems occur, try a library. On main-line trains connections are usually good. In accommodation places access is generally free.

Mobile phone networks

Czech mobile phones operate on the 900MHz and 1800MHz frequencies. Leading mobile network operators include O2, Vodafone and T-Mobile.

Czechia (country code 420) has a consistent system of nine-digit telephone numbers, whether mobile or fixed-line connections. Neither area codes nor mobile phone numbers use an initial 0. Mobile numbers typically begin with the digits 6, 7 or 9.

Česká pošta 2026 postal rates for letters up to 50g are 48Kč (Europe) or 54Kč (beyond Europe).
Letters up to 100g cost 67Kč (Europe) or 74Kč (beyond Europe). Beyond 100g, there is differential pricing for EU and non-EU European countries.

Up to 250g, rates are 109Kč (EU), 120Kč (other European countries) and 141Kč (beyond Europe). Up to 500g, rates are 151Kč (EU), 162Kč (other European countries) and 213Kč (beyond Europe). Up to 1kg, rates are 248Kč (EU), 259Kč (other European countries) and 356Kč (beyond Europe). Up to 2kg, rates are 417Kč (EU), 428Kč (other European countries) and 610Kč (beyond Europe).

Outside large cities, the standard of English spoken in Czech post offices might not be high. Postal customers might be asked for a Czech sender address.
