Welcome to one of Europe’s most beautiful countries. Austria’s landscapes, regions and townscapes provide almost the full range of European variety in the centre of the continent. Austria is often associated, rightly, with winter sports, but there is so much more on offer. Its alpine areas are rugged and picturesque, but that’s far from being the whole story.

Kufstein

The fortress of Kufstein dominates the town from its perch high above the river Inn. Festung Kufstein contains most of the attractions, including a folk museum, a museum telling the stories of political prisoners kept in the powerful central tower, and centuries-old heavy guns.

The decorated town hall, the Stadtpfarrkirche St Vitus and parts of old town fortifications are other interesting sights.
